Something a little different…
This isn’t going to be a post about photography. In fact, just to emphasize that point I don’t think I’ll include a picture. Now that’s a first.
Instead, I’m going to ask you to take a couple of minutes to browse Altynai’s Legacy Adoption Fund. In this time of family and celebration and joy (and merchandising, shameless promotion, and excessive commercialism) I wanted to ask you to please pray/cheer/shout/think about the 65 families who are waiting to bring their children home.
If you look around this site a little, you may notice that one of these families shares the same last name as myself. Or you can just click here to see their story. My cousin Eric and I were born one year and one day apart and we grew up as close as brother and sister. He and his wife Melissa were matched with Caleb Tilek when he was 3 1/2 months old – in two weeks he will be 4 years old and he is still waiting for them to bring him home from Kyrgyzstan. Theirs has been an arduous journey but it has been filled with hope, love, and courage that should be an inspiration to us all. Fortunately it seems as though we might be glimpsing the light at the end of this very long tunnel – keep your fingers crossed!!
I’ve been blogging for about eight months now and I have seen how adding just one link here or there can multiply into more and more site views so I wanted to make sure I featured Caleb’s story. Because they need all the prayers, thoughts, and good wishes that they can get.
