About
Hello everyone and thank you for coming to visit My Life in CNY. Hopefully I won’t bore you to tears and you will keep coming back. But if your interests are similar to mine – photography, food, wine, gardening, and reading – then you should be able to find something of interest here.
As you may have guessed, I live in Central New York, specifically Ithaca, NY. This area is also known as the Finger Lakes Region. It’s a beautiful area – words can’t do it justice. I am constantly awed. The area has much to offer, from lakes and waterfalls, to wineries, to excellent restaurants. It also has long and tedious winters – but you have to take the good with the bad I suppose.
I am in my thirties (the actual number varies depending on my mood) and I have been married almost four years with no children or pets. It’s a very quiet home! Last Christmas (2009) my husband came home with a Nikon D3000. I was not real enthusiastic – it had a lot of buttons and dials and I was completely happy with my tried and true point-and-shoot. I did not want to have to learn how to use this intimidating contraption!!
Well, learn I did to the point where my husband rarely gets to use the D3000 anymore. Prior to now, I have been doing all of my photo posting using Flickr and I don’t expect that to change. But lately I’ve been posting more and more comments with my pictures and I started to think about blogging.
And so that’s where we’re at. I don’t know where this will go – it’s sure to be an interesting experiment. I’m glad you’re coming along for the ride.

Hi! I found your link in my blog stats and had to pop over and take a look
Food, wine & photography, can’t get much more perfect than that! (I’m not much of a gardener, and usually don’t find the time to read).
Off to look at your blog past the first page…
Love your photos and they inspire me to keep practising
I’m not far from Ithaca, living in Elmira. I really do get the winters you write about…brrrrr!
Happy to have stumbled upon your blog today!
Hello! Popping over to see what you are all about. Some good stuff here. Nice to meet another Nikon girl.
I’ve been photographing for over a decade now, and even had my own studio for quite some time (closed it this past June due to the economy) so if you ever have any questions, feel free.
